Flower Care
First, place flowers still in their wrapping into fresh water to allow them to drink.
Use a clean vase. Flowers will last longer if you add cut flower food to the water. Be sure to use the correct amount!
Before arranging the flowers in a vase, cut off approximately an inch from each stem - preferably at an angle. Stems should never be broken off or flattened, even "woody stems". Scraping the bark will shorten flower life
Leaves should never be covered with water
Regularly top up with clean water
Daffodils can be deadly to other flowers because they release a toxin into the water. After trimming daffodils, leave them in their own water for a whole day and do not cut again before combining them with other flowers. Alternatively, a special cut flower food is available for daffodils which enables them to be mixed with other cut flowers immediately.
